AI Visibility vs Prerender.io: making Commerce7 wine pages readable to AI

ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude can’t read a Commerce7 wine page that is drawn by JavaScript. Pre-rendering services, a Commerce7 SEO app and server-side rendering all fix that in different ways. Here is how they compare for a winery.

Three ways to make a Commerce7 wine page readable to AI crawlers: a pre-rendered copy for bots, an SEO app, and wine content written into the page for everyone.

We make 1Pixel, AI Visibility & Shopping Feed and the 7Labs Winery Integration plugin, so weigh what we say about them accordingly. Details about other products come from their public pages and listings, checked on October 17, 2026. Prices and features change, so confirm on each vendor’s own site. Product names belong to their owners, and check.wine is not affiliated with them or with Commerce7.

The problem all three solve

A Commerce7 wine page reaches the browser with an empty shop area, and Commerce7’s script fills in the wine. Google renders JavaScript and usually sees the result. The crawlers behind ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Claude don’t run JavaScript, so they get the empty version. The ChatGPT and Commerce7 guide shows how to test your own pages.

There are two ways to fix it. Render the finished page for crawlers after the fact, which is what pre-rendering services do. Or put the wine into the page before it leaves your server, for everyone, which is what server-side rendering does and what Google recommends.

Prerender.io

Prerender.io loads your pages in a headless browser, waits for the scripts to finish, saves the result, and hands that saved copy to crawlers when they ask. It markets this for search engines, social networks and AI crawlers. You connect it with middleware on your server or CDN; its documentation lists Cloudflare Workers, nginx, Apache, WordPress, Node.js and many more.

  • Strengths: it works on any JavaScript site, not only Commerce7, and needs no changes to your pages. Because it runs the real page, crawlers get exactly what Commerce7 draws.
  • Trade-offs: crawlers get a saved copy, so prices and stock are only as fresh as the last render. You need access to the server or a CDN in front of it, which rules out a plain Squarespace or Wix site. Google describes serving pre-rendered pages to bots as a workaround and recommends server-side rendering instead.
  • Price: from September 2026, Starter is $59 a month for 30,000 renders, Growth $169 for 100,000 and Pro $419 for 500,000. Prerender bills for pages it caches or re-caches, not for every crawler visit.

AI SEO Search Optimizer and Product Feeds, by Gorilion

Gorilion’s Commerce7 app is listed at $30 a month, with an optional $199 if Gorilion installs it. Its page lists better product metadata for search engines and AI bots, product feeds for Google, Vivino and Facebook, a product sitemap, Open Graph tags for social sharing, Product schema, canonical addresses and support for Rank Math and Yoast. It says it works with Commerce7 and eCellar. The page doesn’t describe how the content is delivered, so test a wine page with the page source check after installing it.

AI Visibility & Shopping Feed, by 7Labs

AI Visibility is ours. It takes each wine from Commerce7 and writes its name, notes, price, availability and Product schema into the page as it leaves your server, along with the wine’s own title, description and preview tags. Commerce7’s script replaces that area with the normal shop when it loads, so visitors see no difference, and every visitor and crawler gets the same HTML. Content refreshes when a wine changes in Commerce7.

It connects through a WordPress plugin, a Cloudflare Worker, a PHP include or a Node.js module, or as wine pages on a subdomain for sites that allow none of those. The same app runs your Google Merchant Center, Meta catalog, local inventory, Wine-Searcher and Vivino feeds. It costs from $29.99/mo on Commerce7’s Basic and Pro plans and $39.99/mo on Experience and Enterprise, plus $150 if we install it.

Which one fits

  • Prerender.io if your site has a lot of JavaScript beyond Commerce7, such as a custom-built front end, and you have a developer who can install middleware.
  • Gorilion’s app if you also sell through eCellar, or already work with Gorilion on your site.
  • AI Visibility if you want the same page for people and crawlers, wine data straight from Commerce7, and your feeds in the same app.
  • A developer if you’d rather own it: Commerce7 has a public product endpoint that needs only your tenant ID, and a developer can server-render the wine into the page.

Whichever you choose, check the result the same way: view the page source of a wine page and search for the wine’s name and price, then fetch it as OAI-SearchBot. A free check.wine check runs both tests on your wine pages.

Questions

Is Prerender.io cloaking?

Google doesn’t treat pre-rendering as cloaking when bots and people get substantially the same content, but it calls the approach a workaround and recommends server-side rendering.

Does Prerender.io work on a Commerce7 site?

Yes, if you can install its middleware on your server or a CDN such as Cloudflare in front of the site. It renders the page with Commerce7’s script, so crawlers get the wine as Commerce7 draws it.

How many renders does a winery need?

Prerender bills for pages it caches or re-caches. A site with 150 wine and collection pages re-cached daily uses about 4,500 renders a month, well inside the Starter plan.

Do I still need product schema if AI crawlers can read the page?

Yes. Product schema tells Google the price, currency and stock in a form it can show in results, and AI assistants read it too.
